Many thanks to those who joined us on 18 March at Bolney Meadow Community Centre to welcome the formal approval by Lambeth Council of the Kennington, Oval and Vauxhall Neighbourhood Plan and to those who voted in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan at the referendum held on 11 December 2025. The information in the presentation attached was discussed at the meeting. The slides confirm that following the referendum the KOV Neighbourhood Plan forms part of Lambeth’s Development Plan and carries full weight in planning decisions within the KOV Neighbourhood Area, the background to the production of the Neighbourhood Plan plus a reminder that the Plan still covers the areas within Oval and Prince’s Wards as identified before local government boundary changes. The newly constituted Vauxhall Ward is within the area of the Plan. The Neighbourhood Plan is one of the only two Neighbourhood Plans formally approved in Lambeth. Please see the presentation for a summary of the benefits of a made Neighbourhood Plan, including that it gives local communities statutory power to influence development,  ensuring that policies reflect local needs rather than just top-down directives. It is now part of the local planning framework, influencing decisions  on planning applications for the next 10 years. Thank you again to all who supported the complex process of preparation of the Neighbourhood Plan and all who voted Yes in the referendum. Please watch for details of forthcoming Neighbourhood Forum activities through on line mailings adn on the KOV Forum website
